Christmas Decorating

It’s Christmas in July

It’s Christmas in July

I have had more conversations about Christmas in the last two weeks – not even kidding!  I am really NOT crazy!     from owecraft.com When I owned a retail store – about 35 years ago – I always had Christmas in July with the Cuthbertson Christmas China.  I sold it on a special sale to get ready for the Holiday entertaining, so I pulled out some Christmas goodies for merchandising that sale, and was able to sell more Christmas decorations

The Elves at Work…

The Elves at Work…

I’m thinking that you are ready with your Christmas decorating and that you have a fabulous tree,  or maybe multiple trees, decorated, too. You may have even hosted a party already…   One of my clients hosted her subdivision Bunco party, all decorated beautifully! She sent me the “night time” views of her interiors….     I have surely enjoyed all the wonderful decorating projects with clients and their beautiful inspirations that “the Elves” made a reality. This has been

Mistletoe Storied

Mistletoe Storied

Have you ever wondered how the mistletoe tradition started? Have you ever incorporated mistletoe in your Christmas decorating?      from quotesgram.com Here’s one story ~    http://www.history.com/news/ask-history/why-do-we-kiss-under-the-mistletoe Kissing under sprigs of mistletoe is a well-known holiday tradition, but this little plant’s history as a symbolic herb dates back thousands of years. Many ancient cultures prized mistletoe for its healing properties. The Greeks were known to use it as a cure for everything from menstrual cramps to spleen disorders,

Mantle Mania

Mantle Mania

Sometimes it’s easier to address the major focal point in your interiors, head on and with authority and creativity when decorating for Christmas.           You can either add to what you already have on the mantle or clear it off and just start over to get the perfect Christmas decorations in place.               The “hanging of the greens” are traditional all around the house, but adding to the mantle

Changing it Up for Christmas!

Do you decorate every year with the same ‘ole mentality that everything goes back to the same spot, year after year?   Well, we are all kinda guilty in that department, I have to admit that it can happen to me with a few pieces, too.  But, if you will just change it up a little bit, it’ll feel much more like you made an effort and that it’s almost a like a new treat!

Fa La La La La La……..la la la la

With the end of November, and the ringing in of December, Christmas decorating is on our minds….. to prepare for the Christmas season ahead.           There has been much on my mind because I decorate the interiors of several homes for Christmas, every year and I get them completed the first few days of December, usually.  And I have to decorate my home, too!  Therefore, your newsletter is a little late this month!

Christmas Decorating with Greenery

I love using greenery in my Christmas decorating for clients and for myself!  It’s classic and festive all rolled in together for a very festive look of the Season.   These days, we use a lot of faux greenery to last through the season, but it’s really cool if you can mix in some greens from your garden into the look as well for added texture and color.  Plus, this gives you the lovely aroma of the Christmas spirit!  It’s

Inspirational Americana ~

For this Memorial Day Salute, I thought some Art and Americana would be appropriate.  I love cruising through Art Galleries and one of my local favorites is Sunshine Village Gallery in Watkinsville, GA.  Ann Reynolds. owner, will greet you with a smile and great conversation, telling the stories behind her artists’ canvases.  It’s quite the treasure in a little town, that is loaded with wonderful pieces of art that I wanted to share with you a sneak peak.  If you

Trusted friend of mine…

Have you ever become very attached to “something”?   Please bear with me, on a personal note….yet a very important aspect of my interiors business….. I’m referring to my vehicle, which is much more to me than just trasportation, let me tell ya.  I have a major emotional attachment here… It is in reality just an ‘ole Expedition to those looking at it “from the outside”…but to me, it’s a trusted friend, an extension of me in so many ways.
